Bengal Cat:
\nLo Standard ANFI<\/h2>\n

A relatively recent breed, originating in the United States in the 1960s through selective crossing between the domestic cat and the Asian leopard cat (Prionailurus bengalensis<\/em>). The breeders' goal was to obtain a feline with a wild and fascinating appearance, while maintaining a sweet temperament suited to domestic life.<\/p>\n

Its spotted or marbled coat, with striking contrast and unique texture \u2014 often described as \"glittered\" for its golden shimmer in the light \u2014 makes it unmistakable among all feline breeds. The build is robust, athletic and muscular, with elegant movements reminiscent of the great wild cats.<\/p>\n

The Bengal is curious, intelligent, lively and deeply attached to its family. It loves water \u2014 an unusual trait among cats \u2014 is easily trainable and responds well to clicker training. It is not a passive house cat: it needs stimulation, play and interaction. It is an extraordinary companion for active families, capable of building deep and lasting bonds with its owners.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n
